Mike Caldwell, an active attorney currently serving the communities of Eastern Montana, is a determined candidate running for Custer County County Attorney in 2024. Mike has lived across the United States from Wisconsin and Texas to California and Hawaii. Coming from a military family, he joined the United States Army at 18 years old and spent the majority of his time as a non-commissioned officer.
He has worked as an attorney, an investigator for the Department of Defense and has held several management positions. He put himself through law school, passed the bar exam and then became a sworn attorney in 2021.
He moved to Miles City to work and raise his children with his wife. With three daughters and experience as a teacher, Mike has spent considerable time working with youth with the goal of improving not just his own children's lives but the children in the community around him.
He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys hunting, shooting and hiking. As a lifelong learner, he's an avid reader with a strong interest in history.
Level-headed and patient, Mike seeks to improve outcomes in Custer County through improved communication and cooperation with law enforcement, timely and appropriate prosecution of crimes and through use of proven tools, like drug treatment court, to reduce recidivism and take steps toward a safer, healthier community.
